DETECT, SURVEY & MONITOR
Our wildlife services allow you to detect, survey and monitor a variety of organisms from both environmental (eDNA in water) and direct (invertebrates and faecal) samples.
Follow the links below to learn about some of the routine services that we offer. If you are unable to see a test that seems relevant to your work, please get in touch, there are so many more ways we can use eDNA that we have yet to try so we're always keen to explore new ideas.
eDNA is a powerful tool for surveying aquatic vertebrate communities without the need to catch the animals themselves. It has been shown to be effective in a wide variety of aquatic ecosystems (ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, estuaries and oceans).READ MORE
DNA Metabarcoding can be used to obtain species-level data across all major taxonomic groups of invertebrates collected using standard capture methods. The same approach can be applied to marine macrofauna and meiofauna, providing extremely high-resolution data on biological responses to environmental stresses.READ MORE
We currently provide a limited number of disease tests including amphibian chytrid testing (both Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans 3) as well as crayfish plague (Aphanomyces astaci ).READ MORE
We are always working to develop new monitoring capabilities and services. We welcome collaboration on these R&D projects, particularly if you can provide some fresh tissue samples for the target taxa or help us obtain field samples from sites where they are known to occur.READ MORE
