Edward provides scientific support on the specifics of DNA-based tools to the BD team, with particular expertise in marine sampling. Edward assists the data science team with bioinformatics, and also writes data reports and reviews projects for clients.
Edward holds a PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of Southampton and Natural History Museum, and holds an MSci in Oceanography with French from the University of Southampton.
Having gained a wealth of experience as an Environmental Reporting Scientist for Gardline, Edward brings to NatureMetrics his expertise in marine environmental baseline surveys and habitat assessments. Prior to that, Edward’s PhD involved population genetics and phylogenetics on the Atlantic coasts of France and Spain. His previous work at the Plymouth Marine Institute included habitat connectivity modelling for the English Channel as part of the PANACHE project and for the deep sea west of Britain.
