NatureMetrics is proud to be featured in the History of Parliament Trust 300 Years of Leadership and Innovation commemorative album that was launched at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday.

Celebrating the best of British leadership, the album features articles on those who have shaped British society, past and present; from Walpole to Cromwell, Churchill to Blair, The Queen and Prince Charles to captains of industry.

NatureMetrics is featured as a provider of innovative eDNA technology that is helping to tackle the planet’s biodiversity crisis.

NatureMetrics CEO Katie Critchlow says,

“Our understanding of the natural world needs to go up a steep learning curve. We are collecting the information to form a database of life that we believe will say something bigger about the Earth and biodiversity and then help find the solutions to reverse that decline.”

Five years ago, NatureMetrics was a small team of people with a passion for DNA and its potential to change the way we manage biodiversity. Today, it has a team of over 70 people working with clients all over the world and has monitored tens of thousands of species across five continents.

“We can do biodiversity studies at a previously unimaginable scale,”

…explains NatureMetrics founder Dr Kat Bruce.

“Our core technology allows us to take a sample of the environment and analyse the DNA to generate a list of diversity. It’s transformational in allowing us to understand what is going on.”

It is being launched to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the appointment of Britain’s first prime minister, Robert Walpole, in 1721, and in the year of Her Majesty The Queen’s 95th birthday.
